Highland Park, the sister neighborhood is also a melting pot. These are some of the oldest neighborhoods in LA. Trendy ,with new shops and restaurants creatives are moving here and transforming these pockets in the city.
Eagle Rock really is named for a large rock with an eagle. Another eclectic area that is located close to Occidental College. There are great bars, restaurants, vintage shops etc. There are many styles of architecture,Craftsman bungalows, tasteful Spanish Revival pads, basic bungalows, Mid Century etc that are reimagined. Hip, trendy and still evolving Eaglerock is one more neighborhood East of downtown that continues to reinvent itself.
Mount Washington. From the hills of Mount Washington you have a view of Downtown LA. Mid Century, Bungalows, Spanish revival,Victorian, rustic mountain cottages etc. are selling. One more happening neighborhood that has a long history and some of the steepest streets in LA.
Then there is Cypress Park, and Glassell Park….. lots of communities in this area so close to Pasadena and Downtown.
