Westwood Village is the center of the Westwood community. There are many retail stores, grocery stores, theaters, restaurants, fast food stops and museums. Thus, UCLA’s proposed student housing project on Le Conte was the highest structure to be built in the area in a long time.

Additionally, it would provide much needed student housing in the area. Although many suggested housing be contained within the campus, the project moved forward . Located on a corner across from In and Out burger, it houses many students. Parking requirements were eliminated due to its close proximity to so many necessary services.

Westwood has tried to maintain the profile of lower height buildings. Interestingly, when the structures around Trader Joes and Target were built a lot of attention was paid to keeping them in context with existing buildings. Westwood has a combination of older classic landmarks and low rise buildings. Many proposals over the years have been introduced to create higher density. Due to the surrounding large population of affluent homes that use the area for its central commerce it is always a topic of discussion reviving and bringing more density to the area.

Additionally, many have complained of limited parking in the area. Others think we need less parking and more use of public transportation. Contact http://www.caronschwartz.com for all your real estate needs.
